Weekly Love

Just a few things I’m loving this week…

Hot Tea » I can’t get enough of the stuff lately. My favorites at the moment are Yogi’s lemon ginger and Celestial Seasoning’s chamomile and roastaroma. I was enjoying roastaroma with almond milk on the back porch almost every morning, but it is way too cold out for that anymore. I miss drinking coffee or tea out there in the morning.

Pepper’s Halloween Outfit » He just looks so stinkin’ cute and festive that I smile every time I see him.

DIY Halloween Luminaries » When I saw this tutorial on Gleeful Things I knew I had to make these! They were very easy to make and you only need a few jars, tissue paper, and Mod Podge. I bought some cheap LED flameless candles to use for this project and wasn’t sure if they’d give off that realistic candle vibe or be bright enough and I’m happy to say that they work perfectly!

Other things that made my week » Good Belly’s Blueberry Açaí Juice /// watching New Girl for the first time – it’s really cute! /// slow jams /// finding The New Rules of Lifting for $8 at a used bookstore /// using coconut oil as a nighttime moisturizer – my skin gets really dry this time of year and this works great

Recipes that look amazing & I’m wanting to try! » pumpkin cinnamon roll pancakes /// harvest tempeh chili /// cashew butter brittle /// vegan almond chai

I hope your week was awesome and that your weekend is even better!

  1. I keep walking by the piles of pumpkins at *all* the grocery stores here and thinking “I must get some! Time to decorate!”

Patrick and I have always found ourselves in neighborhoods that don’t get a lot of Halloween traffic, so I’m afraid we don’t get in the spirit anymore, but I totally wanna make it happen this year. I’m thinking he and I need to have a day of pumpkin carving, seed-baking, candy-making, scary-movie-watching.

    It’s on!

    • I lived in a place that never got Halloween traffic for the longest time so my spirit was pretty low as well. We moved into a new place last year and had an insane amount of trick-or-treaters so I’m really pumped up this year!

That sounds like a very fun day! It would definitely get ya in the spirit. We had a pumpkin carving party last year where a few friends & family came over and we watched scary movies, carved pumpkins, roasted seeds, etc. and it was a blast.

  2. So much good stuff! Thanks for sharing.

Oh, and I really like that mug!

  3. The jack o lanterns are so cute! What a great idea, Thanks!

  4. those lanterns are so cool! perfect for a spooky halloween bonfire :)

  5. Ohhh cashew butter brittle sounds heavenly! If you try it, let me know how it is!

  6. Pepper’s outfit is SO adorable! I love it! :) Have a great weekend!

    • I promised I would never dress him up but all the Halloween stuff is too cute! I saw a little skull & crossbones hoodie that I might have to get haha. I hope you have a great weekend as well!

  7. Thanks for the recipe links – I’m checking out the chai and pancakes!

  8. I love that mug and I have been drinking mug after mug of tea all day long. I can’t get enough!!
    Awww, cute puppy Halloween costume!

  9. I just love the idea of drinking tea outside on a brisk autumn day…the only problem is that here in southern California it’s still about 85 degrees out. My part of the planet hasn’t realized that it’s fall yet… Oh well, I’ll still enjoy my tea! I also love those lanterns & the New Girl! Glad you had an awesome week! Today is my first day of Ripped in 30, wish me luck!

    • 85° sounds pretty nice right about now. It’s actually pretty warm here in the afternoons, but the early morning and evenings are super cold! At least tea is delicious no matter the weather :]

Good luck on Ripped In 30! It’s not bad at all and just remember it’s only 30 minutes. If you have any questions about it once you get going feel free to e-mail me!
