Weekly Love

Just a few things I’m loving this week…

Salads » I’ve been eating a ton of salads lately. Lots of veggies piled high with sunflower seeds, avocado, and balsamic vinegar and sometimes I add tempeh that has been marinated in soy sauce overnight. So good!

A tired pup » I’ve been taking Pepper to the dog park this week and when he comes home he immediately passes out. He’s really loving hanging out with other dogs and chasing tennis balls until he’s totally wiped out. I also love how he sleeps with some of his toys.. it’s too cute.

This picture of my sister & nephew at the 5k on Saturday » I love how lil’ Angelo doesn’t even care about the creepy zombies hanging out next to him. Haha!

Other things that made my week » carving pumpkins /// this chili recipe /// watching Gremlins for the first time /// handing out candy on Halloween /// taking new classes at the gym /// baked potatoes covered in miso /// asparagus cooked in sesame oil, soy sauce, & garlic (smells amazing) /// this diy decorative ampersand

Recipes that look amazing & I’m wanting to try! » pumpkin pancakes /// almond wheat crackers /// orange chicken style tofu /// lasagna cups

I hope your week was great and that your weekend is even better!

  1. Pepper’s adorable! I want to be all curled up and cozy right now instead of at work. Pets have the life!

  2. Sheila will occasionally curl up in her bed full of kitty toys. It’s hilarious. I love Pepper pics! He’s the cutest.

    • Aw, I think that’s just the cutest thing ever :] My cat only likes to curl up in a laundry basket full of clean clothes haha

  3. That Pepper smashface! I love it when cats and dogs sleep with their faces all smushed into cushions/paws/floors.

Also I’m glad you like the looks of that cracker recipe! I’d love to know if you develop any delicious additions. (I bet they would be great herby or spicy!)

    • Haha smashface is a great word for that! :] He only started doing it recently and it always melts my heart. Pups are the best.

I’m really excited to make your recipe! I love the idea of a spicy cracker. I’m not good at subbing things so do you think it’d be okay if I left the cheese out or does it need it? I might sub cheddar and something spicy. That’d be awesome. Also, I’m really bad about over mixing things so I’m glad you put that note in there!

  4. that salad looks fan freaking tastic! avocado makes everything taste good :)

    • That is very true! It’s so good. I keep seeing dessert recipes that use avocado in them and really want to try them out. I think they’re mostly raw desserts and they look really good.

  5. Mmmm salads. I usually stop craving them this time of the year, but that looks tasty!

Also, I wish there was a dog part near home for McKinley – he would go nutsssss!

    • I usually stop craving them when it gets cooler too, but not this year.

I bet there is one! You should do a search. I can’t imagine Asheville not having something like that for pups.

  6. I have been loving salads this week too!
Haha @ the Halloween race picture, love it :)

    • I think I may actually be craving the balsamic haha It’s so good.

One of the zombies held him and he didn’t want to go back to my sister! haha

  7. LOVE your blog. Just discovered it. I’m halfway through Ripped in 30 and your blog is amazing + motivating.

    Thanks :)

    • Thank you so much! That’s awesome – you’re almost finished!!! How are you liking it so far? Have you seen improvement in endurance/strength? Noticing that I was getting stronger was the most exciting thing ever for me.

I love your blog as well, btw! I love your work. You are super talented!
