January Favorites
This is more than a little late, but I still wanted to get it up here because January was a really great month for me. I started working out again, found a fitness class I love, Waves is in this awesome stage where she loves to laugh and play constantly, and my birthday was this month which meant family, cake, and turning 28. Here are a few more of my favorite things from January:
Zumba » I seriously can’t get enough of the class I’ve been taking. I love the music, the moves, and how everyone is so enthusiastic in a very non-annoying kind of way. It’s really nice being able to look forward to a class so much.
First foods! » I gave her avocado at first and just let her play around with it. She smashed it in her hands and got it all over the place, but overall didn’t seem too into the whole experience. The next week I tried oatmeal and she loved it! She smiled the entire time and had a blast playing and eating. Now I sit in the kitchen floor with her and I drink coffee while we listen to music and she has her breakfast—it’s a really nice little morning ritual.
These new beauty products »
• St. Ives Coconut Body Wash. It smells incredible. I have a serious love for coconut scented products because they always remind me of warm weather.
• Burt’s Bees Calming Lavender Lotion. We received this as a gift for Waves, but I find myself using it all the time too. The smell really is calming and it has really helped my dry hands since I wash them constantly now.
• Sonia Kashuk Hidden Agenda Concealer. I kept seeing great reviews for this over at MakeUpAddiction and I have some pretty gnarly under eye circles, so I decided to give it a try. It’s not as creamy or thick as the MAC concealer I normally use, but it does a decent job at covering my circles. I like that it has one shade to cover circles, one to cover redness, one skintone, and a setting powder all in one palette. I found that it worked best when I used a concealer brush instead of my fingers to apply and it really does do a wonderful job—better than my MAC concealer—at neutralizing the purple/blueish tone to my circles.
My birthday » This photo of Pepper hanging out in the snow is the only photo I have from my birthday. We ended up getting a lot of snow (for Knoxville, anyway) so festivities were put on hold for a couple of days. When it cleared up, family came over and brought a huge cake that was super good.
I’m hoping that February will be just as good and I’m already pretty happy since the forecast has some temps in the 60s this month. Nice! I am so ready for warmer weather. You people that love winter just ain’t right.

Love Zumba! February will be the month of Zumba for me.
And Happy Belated Birthday. I’m a Jan girl too!
I hope you have an awesome month of zumba! :] I took a class this morning and am already sore.
Thank you and Happy Belated Birthday yourself! I hope you had a great birthday.
I love St. Ives body wash, and I love this post too. Looking forward to what you (and Waves) accomplish in February!

I do too. I normally buy the oatmeal shea kind, but this new coconut one smells so good that I will never go back. I also like how they are made without parabens which is hard to find in drugstores sometimes.
I have a feeling February will be a good month. Waves has already accomplished eating sweet potatoes for the first time so she’s pretty happy :] I hope that you have a wonderful February!
