I have a ton of these workout dvds so I decided to start a page that lists how many calories I’ve burned during each one. Keep in mind that I’m a 5’5″, 135 pound female so it will be different for each person, but this will give you a good estimate.

Also, I really suggest getting a heart rate monitor so you know exactly what you’re burning during each workout session. I have the Polar FT7 and it’s easy to set-up, comfortable and a really great monitor. I love the fact that it stores 99 workouts and gives you a total weekly calorie burn. I’ve also heard that the Polar FT4 is awesome, plus it’s a little cheaper and comes in different colors.

how many calories does jackie warners 20min. full body power circuit burn.

    • Anastasia says:

I’m not sure as I haven’t done that one yet. Her 30 minute full body power workout burns 295 so I’d guess maybe 230 or so?

  2. Joallen says:

How many calories would I burn using 3lb weights for the full NMTZ workout? I weight 138lbs and I do it 5-6 times a weeks with 60 minutes on the treadmill.

    • Anastasia says:

It really just depends on how hard you’re working! I use a heart rate monitor to get my exact calorie burn.. you should look into one. They are definitely worth the investment! I have the Polar FT7 watch.

  3. Cindy says:

Have you ever tried Lindsay Brin’s workouts? She’s great too! If you are looking for a change up–you would like her too!

    • Anastasia says:

I have not heard of her, but I will definitely check some of her videos out! I just did a search for her and found her blog. Her body looks amazing for just having a baby! I watched one of her videos on her blog and she seems really sweet too. Thanks so much for the recommendation!

  4. Erin says:

This is great! Thanks so much. Terrific blog.

  5. Robin says:

This is a great blog and exactly what I have been looking for! It also makes me want to get a heart monitor, but until I can, this has been really helpful. Thanks!

  6. Jody says:

I luv bob Harper yoga for the warrior! So tough but it’s a great 60 mins of sweat! I also do body by bethenney. More intermediate as bob’s is more advanced but it’s a good 40 min yoga workout. U stated bob Harper yoga for the warrior only burns 251 calories yet bethenney claims body by bethenney burns 300! That’s crazy to me! Any explanations?

    • Anastasia says:

I’m not sure. I have never done the Body By Bethanney dvd so I have no idea what it is like. If you can get a better calorie burn in only 40 minutes then go for it! I will have to check it out for sure!

  7. alisha says:

does your actual weight matter? i know that if you’re a certain weight, your burn a luittle bit more.

    • Anastasia says:

I’ve heard that the heavier you are the more calories you burn so that’s why I put my height and weight here since it can change things a bit.

  8. Emily says:

Have you ever done any Dennis Austin workout videos??? If so will you post about them!

    • Anastasia says:

I have a looong time ago. I will definitely post them if I do! I really liked her workouts when I did them so I will have to see what she has out now.

      • Kalissa says:

If you do Denise Austin’s Yoga Buns, please post. Also, what is your daily meals regimen if you have one. I have recently implemented a standard breakfast and lunch. I want to make sustainable adjustments to better living rather than short term sacrifices. Thanks!

        • Anastasia says:

If I come across it I will definitely do it! I don’t have one at the moment since I am breast feeding. I just started tracking my food again though to make sure I’m getting enough protein and not overdoing it on sodium/cholesterol/etc. You can see what I ate while doing Ripped In 30 though here: – just look at the dates from May 16 to June 10. Hope that helps and if you have any more questions feel free to ask!

    • Anastasia says:

I just did her ultimate fat burn workout and it burned 194 calories. Hope that helps!

  9. Megan says:

Thanks for this info! I am 5’5 and 135 and this was a perfect match for me to record calories in my food diary.

  10. Katie says:

Thankyou so much this is extremely helpful (: Now i dont have to guess as blindly to as many calories I was burning (:

    • Anastasia says:

I’m glad it was helpful to you! I always wondered how much these workouts burned before I got my HRM and it’s nice to know all that hard work is paying off!

  11. jennifer says:

This was just what I was looking for. Thank you so much for taking the time to share all of this!

  12. Jenny says:

I was wanting to know what Jillian Michaels Biggest series burn by DVD: shape up front, shape up back, cardio, maximize full frontal and maximize full back in action? Thank you!

  13. Alexandrea J says:

I know this is WAY old but I just had to say THANK YOU for this blog because I needed to know how many calories I was losing with Jillians 30 day shred and this really helped me figure it out so I could see. Thank you! :)

  14. Jackie says:

Does anyone know how to find how many calories Im losing? I’m on first week of ripped in 30 and I’m 173 pounds

  15. Hannah says:

I am using MFP (myfitnesspal) and logging food and exercise. I am just curious about 2 things. I have a HRM (sportline) w/chest strap. What I burn in a workout or walking shows higher on the HRM then it does if I find that same exercise on MFP. Which is more accurate – MFP or HRM? Second question: Am I supposed to eat all my workout calories? Some days I can eat them all and other days I just fall short.

    • Anastasia says:

Definitely your HRM. I always got different readings with my HRM and what the treadmill said too so I know it is confusing.

I stayed within 1600-1800 calories depending on how hungry I was. It sounds like you’re doing great!

  16. nikki says:

    hi anastasia…

have you done jillian’s body revolution already? are you intending on doing it?

thanks for the calorie count. i am heavier than you…(10 pounds heavier), so i am glad to know that i may be burning quite a bit of calories with these workouts!

    • Anastasia says:

I haven’t picked it up yet but I will! I bought Tread and Shred and Killer Buns & Thighs so I will try and get those up soon. I weigh a little more now since having my baby (150lbs), so I will make sure to note that.

  17. Madison says:

How many calories did you burn doing the 15 minute yoga abs by Bob Harper?

  18. Merrill says:

Thank you so much for posting this! It has been extremely helpful. I was wondering if you had any idea of the amount of calories burned by doing Jillian Michael’s killer abs? I can’t find it anywhere. Thanks!

    • Anastasia says:

I’m glad you found it helpful! I haven’t done that dvd, but I looked it up and it’s 30 minutes long so I would compare it to Six Week Six Pack which burned 281 calories with a 5lb weight (not sure if Killer Abs uses weights or not though). Hope that helps!

    • Anastasia says:

I just did level 1 of Killer Abs and burned 219 calories. I used a 5lb weight whenever Natalie used one. I hope that helps!

  19. Kris says:

I just stumbled across this “blog” and I am so thrilled I have found it. Thank you Anastasia!!!

I LOVE Jillian Workouts and I use to track my calories burned. I do not have a heart rate monitor yet, so I found this page most helpful! I am 5’6″ and 147 lbs. (a little bit bigger) but I can guesstimate using your results. I did notice they run similar to sparkpeople’s count, but I love to actually see someone post their information.

I just did Jillian’s Killer Abs, Level 1 for the first time. I was looking to see if anyone had an estimate for the calories burned. I see that it isn’t listed yet. I can tell you that it was a non stop workout, more intense than 6 Week 6 Pack, but not as much cardio. If anyone does Killer Abs AND has a heart rate monitor, please post your results.

Thanks again Anastasia for a great blog! =)

    • Anastasia says:

You are welcome! I’m glad it’s helpful to you. That’s great the the calorie count is similar on SparkPeople. Sometimes it can be way off on those sites (it definitely is on The Daily Plate which I use). I don’t have Kill Abs but I will definitely put it up here if I do get it. I can’t imagine something harder than 6 Week 6 Pack! That workout killed me.

I did just buy Jillian’s Killer Buns & Thighs and will be posting it soon. It looks tough too!

      • Kris says:

OMG! I did Level 2 – Killer Abs and I was so sore for 3 days – no joke! I felt lower ab muscles I never felt before. LOL The only recommendation I have it that some of the moves pulled on my lower back (I have a slight curvature of the spine), so I modified some moves with bent knees. If you do Killer Abs, it is the moves on your back with legs extended (I bent mine). Again, no heart monitor yet, so I can’t give a calorie burn count. But I will as soon as I do.

Anastassia, I can’t wait to hear how Killer Buns & Thighs is! Please let me know when you give if it a try! Thanks again for this great page. Luv referring to it when needed.

Have an awesome week! Get Ripped, become a “Loser” and Get Shredded! lol :)

        • Anastasia says:

Haha, yes! I know that exact feeling.

Thank you so much for the warning! I will definitely be careful when I do level 2 and be sure to quote you (if you’re okay with that, of course) when I write about the dvd. I plan on doing Killer Buns sometime this week and sharing my thoughts.

I’m glad you find it useful! Thank you for reading and you have an awesome week as well!

    • Anastasia says:

I just did level 1 of Killer Abs and burned 219 calories. I used a 5lb weight whenever Natalie used one. I hope that helps!

  20. Alana says:

I am 5’2 and weigh about 155 lbs. How many calories estimate do you think i’d burn in each level for the ripped in 30?

    • Anastasia says:

You won’t be able to know exactly without a heart rate monitor, but I’d bet it’s really close to what I have listed here.

  21. Tiffany says:

Thank you for this info! Exactly what I was looking for!

  22. patience says:

hey I am trying to find out how many calories i burn doing jillians killer abs level 1 I am 5’5 and 134 lbs

    • Anastasia says:

I don’t have that dvd, but as soon as I get it/find it I will post and reply to this comment so that it sends you an e-mail.

    • Anastasia says:

I just did level 1 of Killer Abs and burned 219 calories. I used a 5lb weight whenever Natalie used one. I hope that helps!

  23. Marissa says:

Thanks!! This was really helpful. I have been wanting to get an idea of how many calories I’d been burning with Jillian Michaels’s DVDs. I am going to go out and get a heart rate monitor now too!

  24. Amber says:

I do Jillian’s extreme shed and shred, I am 5’6 (140lbs) and I cannot find calories burned for this anywhere!!!

  25. Skinny girl says:

Can u please do calories burned for most blogilates videos?!??!

    • Anastasia says:

I will definitely do a couple this week and post them here! Any in particular you’d like to know the calorie burn of?

  26. Mckin says:

Have you done jillian michaels killer abs?? I am trying to find out how many calories are burned during each level…any help would be greatly appreciated!

    • Anastasia says:

I haven’t done that one yet. I looked at the preview of it on YouTube and it seems to be similar to 6 Week Six pack in that you use weights and it has a lot of cardio in addition to ab moves. I burned 281 calories during level 1 on Six Pack (w/a 5lb weight), so I bet it would probably be similar. Killer Abs looks insanely tough from the preview! I’m going to have to check it out soon.

    • Anastasia says:

I just did level 1 of Killer Abs and burned 219 calories. I used a 5lb weight whenever Natalie used one. I hope that helps!

  27. Courtney says:

First of all LOVE your name…..same as my oldest daughters only hers is spelt with 2 n’s :)

I’m hoping you might know how many calories I would burn with Jillian Micheals Ripped in 30 using 2 lbs weights for week one.

I also would be interested in knowing how many calories you burn with Jillian Micheals Killer ABS.

    If it helps I’m 5’2″, 115 lbs

Thanks for your help and for creating this blog…..have a wonderful day.

    • Anastasia says:

Thank you! I never run into many others with the same name!

I burned 275 using 5lb weights, so I’d guess you’re somewhere around 250-275 as well. It’s really the cardio and compound moves that are burning the calories and not so much the weight used.

I need to go out and buy Killer Abs because a lot of people tell me how wonderful it is. I will try and get it sometime soon and get a calorie count up here.

No problem, I hope this helps. You have a great day as well!

    • Anastasia says:

I just did level 1 of Killer Abs and burned 219 calories. I used a 5lb weight whenever Natalie used one. I hope that helps!

  30. Mckin says:

I think this blog is really cool and i am so glad i found it!! I am 5′ 6 and 143 pounds and I am just wondering about jillian michaels killer abs level 1…

  31. Ashley says:

Have you done Jillian Michaels yoga inferno?

    • Anastasia says:

I haven’t yet! I know that I will end up doing it sometime though. I will send you an e-mail whenever I add it here.

  32. Brittany says:

How many calories would I burn doing killer abs level 1 using 3 pound weights whenever Natalie did?

  33. Thanks so much for posting these! I don’t have a HR monitor or Fit Bit or anything, so I have no concept of how many calories I’m burning during a Jillian DVD. I know a lot of the calories you burn from her videos are also in the “afterburn,” but this at least gives me an idea.

    • Anastasia says:

No problem! Glad it’s helpful to you! I love her videos so much because you burn so many calories in such a short time. I wear my HRM each time I do one of her workouts and the burn is very similar every time so this is a good base to go off of.
