Just a few things I’m loving this week…
Homemade Dog Treats » One of my goals this month was to make some homemade dog treats for Pepper and hope that he liked them. I used this recipe that Lindsay from Food & Do Daily told me about. They turned out awesome and he absolutely loves them. The recipe made a ton of small sized treats so we’re all stocked up. I’m not sure about the shelf life on them, but I have them in an airtight tupperware container so they should be good for awhile.
The Bulk Spices at Three Rivers Market » I love going here and getting a few of my usual spices and finding something new to try out (last time I got kelp powder & now I’m not sure what to do with it). That photo doesn’t even show it all as there are a couple of shelves underneath the counter as well.
This Playlist » I’ve been going to 8tracks and going through random playlists to find new music. There’s some really good stuff on there and this is one of my current favorites.
Other things that made my week » Upping my weight for strength class. I’m now using 10lb dumbbells.. pretty bad ass, I know haha /// the ask me anything section on Reddit /// starting Gilmore Girls from the beginning and watching while I do design work /// pizza for lunch /// taking a yoga class – it felt great to stretch for almost an hour! /// (non-extreme) couponing – it all adds up and I’ve managed to get a couple of things completely free /// The Dead Set – if you love zombies then this is the show for you!
Recipes that look amazing & I’m wanting to try! » roasted veggie & black bean baked burritos /// cheesecake stuffed strawberries via Priyanka at The Healthy Diary /// BLT salad
Have a great weekend!

Salads » I’ve been eating a ton of salads lately. Lots of veggies piled high with sunflower seeds, avocado, and balsamic vinegar and sometimes I add tempeh that has been marinated in soy sauce overnight. So good!
A tired pup » I’ve been taking Pepper to the dog park this week and when he comes home he immediately passes out. He’s really loving hanging out with other dogs and chasing tennis balls until he’s totally wiped out. I also love how he sleeps with some of his toys.. it’s too cute.
This picture of my sister & nephew at the 5k on Saturday » I love how lil’ Angelo doesn’t even care about the creepy zombies hanging out next to him. Haha!
Other things that made my week » carving pumpkins /// this chili recipe /// watching Gremlins for the first time /// handing out candy on Halloween /// taking new classes at the gym /// baked potatoes covered in miso /// asparagus cooked in sesame oil, soy sauce, & garlic (smells amazing) /// this diy decorative ampersand

Hot Tea » I can’t get enough of the stuff lately. My favorites at the moment are Yogi’s lemon ginger and Celestial Seasoning’s chamomile and roastaroma. I was enjoying roastaroma with almond milk on the back porch almost every morning, but it is way too cold out for that anymore. I miss drinking coffee or tea out there in the morning.
Pepper’s Halloween Outfit » He just looks so stinkin’ cute and festive that I smile every time I see him.
DIY Halloween Luminaries » When I saw this tutorial on Gleeful Things I knew I had to make these! They were very easy to make and you only need a few jars, tissue paper, and Mod Podge. I bought some cheap LED flameless candles to use for this project and wasn’t sure if they’d give off that realistic candle vibe or be bright enough and I’m happy to say that they work perfectly!
Other things that made my week » Good Belly’s Blueberry Açaí Juice /// watching New Girl for the first time – it’s really cute! /// slow jams /// finding The New Rules of Lifting for $8 at a used bookstore /// using coconut oil as a nighttime moisturizer – my skin gets really dry this time of year and this works great
Recipes that look amazing & I’m wanting to try! » pumpkin cinnamon roll pancakes /// harvest tempeh chili /// cashew butter brittle /// vegan almond chai
I hope your week was awesome and that your weekend is even better!

Just a few things I’m loving this week…
This 90s Mix » These songs all take me back to the good ol’ days. The days where I had braces, spent my free time making bad websites on Angelfire and Tripod, and wore Nine Inch Nails t-shirts while secretly getting happy when these songs came on the radio.
Wild Root Kombucha » I tried this for the first time last week and made a trip to the store the next day to pick another one up because I liked it so much. It kind of tastes like a vinegary, flat root beer. Sound delicious, huh? I really, really love anything that tastes like vinegar. My mom said when she was pregnant with me she would crave and drink sauerkraut juice over ice. I’m not that hardcore, but I’m assuming that’s where I get my love of all things sour.
Visiting My Elementary School One Last Time » After years of neglect and some bad storms over the past few weeks, the building started to collapse and there are talks of demolishing it very soon. I loved this school and have so many fond memories associated with it that I wanted to visit one last time. I’m glad I got to see it again, but just wish that the building had been taken care of. It is such a beautiful old structure that was built in 1914 and closed its doors in ’96. I was in the last 5th grade class to graduate from there and feel so incredibly lucky to have gone to such an amazing school.
Other things that made my week » decorating the mantle for Halloween, a ton of tiny tomatoes and bell peppers on our patio garden, veggie spring rolls with sweet chili sauce, getting crafty again, cooking conversion charts that come in handy, painting, hot coffee early in the morning, signing up for the Zombie Buffet 5k, this shirt Greg bought for the zombie 5k haha, Hocus Pocus & Elvira playing non-stop, Natural Health magazine – btw, I was looking around their site & found a coupon for $3 off a 6-pack of Zevia & I saw Target had a $2 off coupon on their site so you might be able to get it free (or close to) if you can combine the coupons.
Recipes that look amazing & I’m wanting to try! » Halloween candy corn cookie bark /// Indian spiced roasted veggies over lentils /// mapo tofu /// eggplant bacon
I hope you all had a great week and have a wonderful weekend!

Burrito Bowls » I’ve been obsessed with making these all week long. They are awesome for after working out because with the quinoa, black beans, kale, and Greek yogurt there is so much protein. I just heat everything up along with chili powder, cumin, garlic powder and a bit of nutritional yeast and it tastes so good.
Essie Nail Polish in “Lady Like” » I never paint my nails but I kept hearing really great things about Essie. I would pass by their display in Target with all these beautiful colors but my cheap self couldn’t justify spending almost eight bucks on a tiny bottle of polish. Well, I made a trip to good ol’ Target yesterday and finally decided to try ‘em out and I’m really glad I did. The colors are subtle, long lasting and it makes me feel better about my super short nails. If you have any other good color recommendations let me know!
Vegan Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls » Yeah, you read that right. Not only was I loving eating these all week, but I was also loving the fact that I made cinnamon rolls from scratch and they turned out well! I always figured making a homemade cinnamon roll would be so much work but it really wasn’t bad at all! I followed the recipe from A Healthy Slice of Life and it was super easy. Her recipe calls for raisins but I can’t stand the little dried up creeps so I left them out and I was going to sub them with walnuts but didn’t have any unfortunately. These are a must for this fall!
Gelato » I tried gelato for the first time this week and loved it. We have a super cute shop downtown called Coolato Gelato and I can’t believe I waited so long to try it out. You get two flavors and I chose pumpkin and mocha. So, so good!
Other things that made my week » Dance Central for Kinect (so much fun) /// lots of hot tea /// making hiking plans /// decorating for Halloween /// taking spin after a little break from it /// planning a pumpkin carving party /// hanging out with my sister and baby nephew /// waking up before sunrise and drinking my coffee on the back porch /// these photos of people scared in a haunted house
Recipes that look amazing & I’m wanting to try! » pizza potatoes /// lentil soup /// pumpkin ice cream bites
I hope you all had an amazing week and have a wonderful weekend!
